PD day

The kids were all out of school yesterday.  We had a fun day together.  We made a banner for St. Patrick's day and hung it along with a few shamrocks around the house.  We watched a movie and went for a run.  I did my visiting teaching and worked on some projects.  Just before noon I decided to have a special meal for Dave that night as it was Leap Year.  And the kids were going to make it all.

I gathered them all together and we planned the menu with what we had in the house.  Cora made us Pina Colada's and broccoli soup to start.  Blake made the beef dip, croutons for Leah's salad, and did the strawberries.  Leah made Caesars salad and the dessert.  Leah also set the table all fancy with special folded napkins.  Cora took a picture, but I'm not sure which device she took it on.

When Dave got home we quickly put the finishing touches on as he feed cows.  They all did a great job and it was nice to not have to cook.  After Dave proclaimed we were watching "Leap Year".  Always a cute show.

In between Leah's final basketball tournament this weekend (in which they got third and she got MVP) Cora has been putting up all her post cards.  I had grand beautiful plans for my girl's room.  It is not going to happen.  I made the bedspread and pillows I wanted, but that is all I'm going to get.  It is their room and they should be able to love being in it.  Cora has been collecting post cards for years.  She used to collect rocks.  Not one or two beautiful rock while on vacation, but handfuls daily from our driveway.  I finally declared enough and we sat down to explore options of things that meant something and didn't take up as much room.  Postcards it was.  So many family and friends have helped.  This is not even all of them.

Above her bed she hung a world map.  Cora wanted to put it in the middle of the post cards put the wall was not big enough.

It looks pretty cool.
