The Call

Blake started working on his mission paper the first of January.  Knowing that all the medical and such were going to take some time.  All was finished and ready to be sent off end of April.  He had his two interviews and the papers were sent.  Then we waited.  The process is so much faster now that they email you the call, rather then mailing it back.  From sent to received was 12 days. (Cora was almost 3 months) He got an email yesterday morning saying his call had come. Blake didn't want a big deal made, he only wanted a few close friends.  They were all excited to come and changed their plans to do so.  Leah was able to come as well and it was fun to have her there and be able to do a face call with Ammon, Cora and Braydon. Our printer is having issues and despite changing the ink, prints very faint and skips a few letters.  It was a little hard to read, didn't help that he was super nervous and shaking a bit.

Blake has been called to the
Sierra Leone, Freetown Mission.
He will start Sept 12 and will be going to the Ghana MTC.
Leah captured the exact moment he realized where we was going.  The slight shock and panic, but a little excitement is all there in that one expression.

Not a call we had even thought of.  He is going to have so many neat experiences. We have done a lot of googling and learning in the last day.  It's going to be interesting for sure.

Now to begin the visa applications and all the immunizations he needs.  Here we go!

Mother's Day 2023

A few weeks ago I text all the kids and asked if they could try their best to come for dinner May14th.  I thought it might be the last time they were all together for 3 years, knowing A&C are leaving next week. And they may not get back for Blake's farewell.  We still don't know where B&L are going to be.  So I asked for a family dinner and to take some pictures. At the time I didn't know that it was Mother's Day, I just knew it was close to they time the kids were leaving.  I was much pleased that they were all able to make it.  They ended up being here Saturday night for dinner.  It was a later dinner and then they went to shoot gophers.  Blake and Ammon were waiting for Braydon to get here so they could go shoot guns.  When he arrived I asked if you wanted to go with them.  He kind of laughed and asked it the answer to shoot guns was ever no:)

Cora  walked around the corner and said that she loved all the shoes in the front entrance.  Many shoes was always a sign of a good time according to her.  I loved it, cause it's so true.

After church we got some pictures for my wall and I love them.

Seriously I can't say it enough, I love my kids, I love this stage of life.  Feeling so very blessed.

Fun and Games

We have had some fun spring days.  Keeping busy and having fun.  Just a few of our activities.  We are in to calving season.  There are a whole bunch of cute little calves running around out there.  This is one of Blake's favorites.  He loves the color and the dark nose.  He named this little one Peanut Butter :) It is always stressful and fun during calving season.  They are fun to watch.
Our second try of getting all the Puzey parents together was successful.  Can't say Puzey adults anymore since our kids are growing fast and we have several adults now.  Which is crazy.  We all had a lovely dinner together.  Caught up and just enjoyed the night out.

We have had lovely weather.  Got lots of work done on the shop.  It is coming slowly.  Still a long way to go.  Dave loves working out there.  Blake had an overnight stake camp and I had kids coming in the next evening.  I made him a deal to work my butt of Friday and Saturday he was on his own so I could clean and food prep.  I was exhausted and ready to be done in the evening, and Dave was just loving it.

A&C had been down our way for a few weeks.  They have been trying to spend as much time as possible together with siblings before they go.  One night we all went bowling.  I love being with my kids.  I love seeing them interact together and knowing that even though there were times they didn't get along growing up they truly are each others biggest supporters and best friends now.  Can there be any greater joy for a parent.

Only a few more weeks of school.  Blake is ready to be done, as they all are at this age.  His grad is in only a few weeks.  Dave had a business trip coming up soon, he is headed to Toronto this time.  Leah is really liking her job, we try to do a picnic lunch in the car the days I go to town to get groceries.  It has been so fun to have those little moments.
